Autofocus is handled by linear motors that maintains fast, quiet and smooth operation. Regarding optics, the lens uses the Distagon concept with a floating element design that maintains consistent sharpness and exposure over the entire focusing range. A number of spherical and special glass elements control both chromatic and spherical aberrations.
