The Laowa Nanomorph 80mm T2.4 1.5x S35 lens (Blue) (Fuji X) is a compact and lightweight anamorphic lens designed to capture high-quality organic images with a 1.5x anamorphic squeeze on cameras equipped with S35 sensors. It features telephoto compression, which is ideal for close-up shots, and offers an aperture range from T2.4 to T16, allowing for deep depth of field. Additionally, the lens is equipped with 13 aperture blades to produce soft bokeh, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the images it captures.
This prime lens has a short minimum focusing distance of 70 cm, making it versatile for various shooting scenarios. It also incorporates anamorphic features such as oval bokeh, shallower depth of field, and captivating blue lens flares, adding a unique cinematic touch to the footage. Furthermore, the lens includes focus markings in both foot and meter, 0.8 MOD cine gears on focus and aperture rings, and a 62 mm front filter thread for added convenience.
The Fuji X lens mount is interchangeable, providing compatibility with six other separately available mounts. Moreover, users can pair this Nanomorph prime with the separately available 1.33x adapter to achieve a squeeze ratio of 2x, further expanding its versatility.
A squeeze ratio of 1.5x strikes a perfect balance between size and anamorphic intensity. After de-squeezing, this ratio results in an aspect ratio of 2.66:1 on a 16:9 sensor. Additionally, the coverage of Nanomorph lenses is greater than that of the S35, allowing for minimal vignetting on certain full-frame cameras, further enhancing their versatility and appeal to filmmakers.
