Overview

Built for musicians who create wherever inspiration strikes, the Zoom R12 MultiTrak is a compact, all-in-one production hub combining an 8-track, 24-bit/44.1 kHz digital recorder with a 2×4 audio interface—all in a battery-powered chassis that lets you produce music anywhere. Designed to meet the needs of modern creators, the R12 offers control-surface functionality, 150 preloaded drum loops, a customizable click track, a dedicated FX channel with four effect types, compressors on inputs 1 and 2, per-track pan and 3-band EQ, a tuner, and even a built-in FM synthesizer. With features such as sequence play for backing tracks, it’s equally suited for recording full albums, performing live, or producing streaming-ready content.

The R12 includes a bright, 2.4″ color touchscreen for intuitive navigation and swipe editing. Two XLR-1/4″ combo inputs are provided—input 1 includes a Hi-Z option for guitar, while both inputs offer selectable phantom power. Balanced 1/4″ monitor outputs, a 3.5mm headphone output capable of driving high-power headphones, and a USB-C port for interface use and bus power (cable included) round out its connectivity. Power can be supplied in three ways: four AA batteries for up to 5 hours of operation, the included AD-17 AC adapter, or USB-C bus power—giving you flexible options wherever you record.
