The Recon Variable ND Compact Matte Box System from PolarPro was engineered to eliminate the hassle of lugging around a full-size matte box while still providing the speed and versatility needed when out filming in varying lighting conditions. Powerful light control and unrivaled setup time at just a fraction of the footprint, this director’s kit revolutionizes the space between a full-size matte box, standalone variable neutral density filter, mist filter, and blue streak filter.

Aero Hood with Flag
Featuring an aluminum lever lock, the Aero Hood is slotted to reduce wind drag when shooting on aerial or vehicle rigs. The carbon fiber flag can be adjusted to block different light angles for reduced lens flare.

82mm Thread Base
The 82mm base acts as a mounting point for Stage 2 filters and the Aero Hood, creating an ultra-minimal matte box setup.

VND 3-6+ Variable Neutral Density Filter
This filter provides 3 to 6 stops of neutral density with no cross-polarization. When used with lenses with focal lengths beyond 35mm, maximum density of up to 7.5 stops may be achieved. It provides haptic feedback for precise results.

Stage 2 Filter Compatibility
Compatible with both the VND base and the 82mm Thread Base, the Recon Stage 2 filters are designed to allow fast filter swaps, without worrying about filter threading or touching any glass.

Stage 2 Mist Filter
This mist filter smooths highlights and gives a subtle bloom to light sources. The filter has 1/4 diffusion strength.

Stage 2 BluMorphic Filter
This filter creates stunning anamorphic-style blue streak cinematic effects, most effective on bright point of light sources, like car headlights.

Defender Protective Caps
The Defender caps offer 360° protection. The front cap slides over the variable ND or threaded base to protect the filter and any additional Stage 2 filters when the Aero Hood is not attached.

MB14 style matte box, 6.6×6.6 filter size and 19mm support system, excellent quality.

This MB14C matte box is the first product we did around 6 years ago, over the course, we have worked hard on continuously improving the product, we sent many samples to rental houses for testing, usually it took half a year or a year and when they were returned, we also got many feedbacks returned, and the MB14C mattebox we are selling now is the newest version, it’s a very mature product than before.

If you have no enough budget but very like Arri style, then this matte box will be the best option, it will save your money but not just for few times use, it will helps you to get the job done.
