<p>This 6mm NiSi True Color Variable ND Filter has a range of 1 to 5-stops. It darkens the entire image, allowing a cinematographer to shoot with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed. Density changes are smoothly adjusted by rotating the built-in gear, or by attaching a compatible lens motor for precise control.</p>
<p>Constructed from aluminum and optical glass, the filter measures 6mm thick and takes up two filter stages in a compatible 4 x 5.65&#8243; matte box, though it can also be used without a matte box. It delivers neutral, color-accurate light reduction thanks to NiSi’s high-quality optical glass. The geared ring includes clearly marked stop indicators for easy density reference. Included with the filter are a 0.6&#8243; support rod for mounting a lens motor and a protective soft case.<br />

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The optical low pass filter (OLPF) is situated in front of the sensor and blocks part of high spatial resolution frequency in the image that would lead to some artifacts when captured by the digital image sensor, then the sharpness of captured images is reduced to some extent. The optical properties of this filter have been carefully fine-tuned to get balance between the image content and reduction on aliasing/artifacts when designed. “Light” OLPF is designed for sharper images while “heavy” OLPF is for deeper suppression on aliasing/artifacts.</p>
<p>OLPF FF1 is capable to create the sharpest images while slightly suppressing aliasing/artifacts. OLPF FF1 as default choice for low pass filter pack of MAVO LF when shipping, it can get sharpest images while aliasing is unnoticed in most cases.</p>
<p>OLPF FF3 as the whole-new full frame multiplayer optical low pass filter, adopts more complex and higher performance crystal process to “eliminating” aliasing/artifacts while keeping very sharp images. It only matches MAVO LF, perfectly and professionally.</p>
<p>Certainly, the OLPF is only a part of the so called low pass filter pack, containing an infrared cut-off filter (IR-cut) and the optical low pass filter. IR-cut effectively abates the pollution on image from infrared of natural light. The IR-Cut of OLPF FF1 and OLPF FF3 features same design and same top-notch process to avoid images from infrared pollution.
