It enables the use of wider apertures or slower shutter speeds without risking overexposure. By extending exposure time, you can achieve motion blur for creative effects or to emphasize movement. Using a wider aperture also facilitates shallow depth of field, helping to isolate your subject effectively. Since neutral density filters don’t alter the image’s color balance, they are perfect for combining with other filters.
