Constructed from durable machined metal, the Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor is built for professional applications, complementing the design of both the Blackmagic PYXIS and Blackmagic URSA Cine cameras. The versatile monitor can be employed as an assist station, allowing your crew to easily monitor shots from any position on the set, even when bright sunlight surrounds your area, as the monitor’s 5″ LCD touchscreen features 1500 cd/m² brightness that ensures clear visibility and with the removable sunshade offering added protection and convenience. A bright tally light is visible from a distance during recording, and the monitor includes three customizable buttons for quick access to features like zebra, focus assist, and false color, designed for easy tactile navigation.

A single USB-C cable that transmits video, power, and camera control connects the monitor to your camera while locking screws at both ends ensure a secure connection. The HDR touchscreen allows users to control all camera functions directly from the monitor, including access to Blackmagic PYXIS menus, settings, metadata, and digital slate information. Custom 3D LUTs can also be loaded for advanced cinematic workflows. Designed for flexible mounting, the Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor supports industry-standard 1/4″-20 mounting and works seamlessly with Blackmagic PYXIS cameras outfitted with accessories like rails and cages. The single USB connection allows for off-camera mounting on other accessories, such as cranes or gimbals, facilitating full monitoring and camera control even when the camera is not within reach.

Large-Format Digital Film Sensor

The PYXIS features a sizable 24 x 36mm full-frame sensor boasting a native resolution of 6048 x 4032, making it 3x larger than a Super35 sensor. This enables shooting with a shallow depth of field or utilizing anamorphic lenses without cropping, delivering a genuine cinematic appearance. With a 13-stop dynamic range and dual-native ISO of up to 25,600, it ensures low-noise imagery across various lighting conditions. Capture footage at up to 36 fps in full sensor resolution or 120 fps in windowed mode.

Flexible Film Formats

Benefit from a range of film formats and aspect ratios without compromising on quality, courtesy of the large sensor. The full-area sensor offers Open Gate 3:2 images, facilitating easier framing in post-production. Additionally, you can work in true 6:5 anamorphic mode without requiring cropping for widescreen cinematics. Utilize a Super35-sized window to craft a close-up rendition of your shot.

Multiple Resolutions and Frame Rates

With the PYXIS, you can shoot in various standard video resolutions and frame rates ranging from HD to 6K, or capture still images at 24.6 MP. For enhanced frame rates, utilize the center window and shoot at up to 100 fps in Super 16 mode at 212 x 1184 resolution. Other options include 6K Open Gate 3:2 at 36 fps, 4832 x 4032 anamorphic at 24 fps, and 1920 x 1080 at 120 fps, among additional resolutions.

Personalize Your Setup

The PYXIS features mounting threads on its sides, enabling you to attach additional mounting plates and customize your gear arrangement. The standard plate provided with the PYXIS utilizes M4 threads, adding two 1/4″-20 threads and one 3/8″-16 thread to the camera for attaching microphones, articulating arms, or other accessories. An SSD plate comes with two hook-and-loop straps for securing a USB-C drive or mobile device, facilitating direct recording or live streaming on the move. For further expansion, a Rosette plate is available for separate purchase.

Add a compact viewfinder to your Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro with this Pocket Cinema Camera Pro EVF from Blackmagic Design. The EVF is designed specifically to fit into the EVF slot on the 6K Pro, and it locks using an integrated M4 screw. When in use, it turns off the built-in touchscreen LCD, so you don’t accidentally change settings while using the EVF. The display provides a 1280 x 960 resolution image on its crisp micro-OLED display.

The display provides a variety of overlays such as status, meters, and settings in the blank areas above and below the camera image. It accepts input frame rates up to 60 fps and 24-bit RGB color for a clear representation of your image. Its glass diopter features -4 to +4 adjustment, and the display also features a digital focus chart.
