The Caruba Blackstar 200 Camera Tripod is a lightweight tripod and is made of strong but lightweight aluminium, making it easy to transport. The tripod’s legs are extendable and consist of 4 sections. You adjust the centre column with a crank to precisely adjust the height of the camera. The lever allows smooth tilt and pan movements.

Versatile tripod head

The tripod head of the Blackstar 200 features a quick release clamp including a quick release plate. This makes it easy to quickly place your camera on the tripod. With the spirit level on the spider and the clamp, you can quickly and accurately level your equipment. The quick release clamp is tiltable by 90 degrees, allowing you to quickly switch between horizontal and vertical position. The quick release plate has a 1/4’ screw so it can be placed under almost any camera.

Stable base

The Blackstar 200 is quick to set up thanks to the clamp lock. The centre spreader provides extra stability. The Caruba Extension Tube set for Nikon consists of three extension tubes that can be used separately, or combined. The extension tubes have no optical elements, which makes it possible to photograph subjects larger and from a closer distance, without changing the quality of the image. The extension tubes have a chrome base and are compatible with Nikon F lenses. Features such as auto focus and TTL light metering continue to work as usual. However, manual focusing is recommended, as focus is very tight.

Ideal for macro photography

Every lens has a minimum focusing distance. If you put an extension tube, or so called spacer ring, between the lens and the camera body, the minimum focusing distance becomes smaller. The greater the focal length of the extension tube, the closer you can get. This is perfect for macro photography or for creating special close-ups.

How does a spacer work?

A spacer ring increases the distance between the image sensor of the camera and the rear lens of the lens. This shortens the focusing distance of the lens, making it possible to focus closer on the subject. As a result, the subject is projected onto the sensor larger than it would be without a spacer ring. A spacer ring increases the magnification factor of a lens. This can be calculated using the following formula.

Maximum magnification with spacer ring = lens magnification factor + (mm spacer ring / focal length)
