URSA Cine features a revolutionary new sensor designed for incredible quality images at all resolutions from 4K to a massive 12K! The larger sensor builds on the technology of URSA Mini Pro 12K with larger photo-sites leading to an astounding 16 stops of dynamic range. The unique RGBW architecture provides equal amounts of red, green and blue pixels. This means it is optimized to deliver incredibly rich colors at all resolutions and provide the ultimate in image quality and flexibility. Now you can capture more detail with a wider dynamic range than ever before! Plus, in sensor scaling means you can record at all resolutions without cropping!

Numerous Formats

The large-format sensor in URSA Cine provides the ultimate in flexibility for aspect ratios, lenses, and delivery formats. The full-frame sensor area gives you a stunning 3:2 open gate image, which lets you reframe your shots in post-production. Or you can use the large sensor area to shoot anamorphic and deliver in a range of aspect ratios with 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 1.66, 1.8, and 2x de-squeeze factors. Plus, you can shoot in 4K, 8K, or 12K using the entire sensor without cropping, retaining the full field of view of your lenses. There are even 9K Super 35 4-perf, 3-perf, and 2-perf modes for full compatibility with classic cinema lenses. All this lets you create distinctive content in the highest quality.

Blackmagic RAW Capture

Blackmagic RAW is a revolutionary format designed to capture and preserve the quality of the sensor data from your camera. Blackmagic RAW files store camera metadata, lens data, white balance, digital slate information, and custom LUTs to ensure consistency of image on set and through post-production. Constant quality options lock the quality level, allowing compression to adapt, matching the detail of the scene. Constant bit rate encoding options are designed to give you the best possible images with predictable and consistent file sizes. The URSA Cine records to the included Blackmagic Media Module 8TB, allowing you to capture over four hours of Blackmagic RAW in 12K or a massive 20 hours in 4K.

Full-Frame 8.6K CMOS Sensor

BURANO has a large 36x24mm full-frame image sensor that delivers high-quality images and superb rendition with wide latitude and a rich colour gamut. It achieves the beautiful bokeh and dynamic wide-angle shooting that only a full-frame sensor can provide. 8K image quality with a maximum resolution of 8632 x 4856 and, through oversampling, it can output phenomenal looking 4K content.

ARRI PL and Sony E Mounts

• The BURANO features the robust and dependable PL- and E-mount systems found in the VENICE series, providing access to an extensive range of lens options.
• The PL mount accommodates both Super35 and full-frame PL lenses, including spherical and anamorphic types. It also integrates Cooke/i technology for frame-specific metadata and ZEISS eXtended Data support.

Multiple Image Scan Modes

BURANO supports 16:9 and 17:9 readouts in full-frame (8.6K) and Super 35mm (5.8K). Image scan modes include full-frame and Super35 as well as finely optimised down sampled and high-speed modes such as 6K 60p (FF crop), 5.8K 60p (S35), and 4K 120p (S35 crop*) catering for a wide range of production requirements.

Dual Base ISO

Cinematographers worldwide love VENICE 2’s ability to switch the sensor’s sensitivity to capture clean images even in low light conditions. BURANO supports the same Dual Base ISO 800 and 3200 as VENICE 2. This means clear images with low noise whether shooting in a brightly lit environments (ISO 800) or in challenging dimly lit scenarios (ISO 3200). With BURANO, it’s possibly to shoot amazing imagery with nothing more than candlelight.

New in-camera Looks for Ready-to-Use Footage

BURANO has four new looks – Warm, Cool, Vintage and Teal and Orange – to choose between alongside the established s709 and 709 (800) looks in Cine EI mode. Creatively tuned to suit typical shooting scenarios, they give the operator a choice of distinctive, engaging looks at the touch of a button. Moreover, LUT data from a shoot can be embedded in those clips’ metadata for an efficient colour workflow.
