The Zoom R20 Portable Multitrack Recorder is an intuitive, all-in-one tabletop workstation designed for recording, editing, and mixing music without the need for a computer. Its DAW-style touchscreen interface, color-coded tactile controls, and support for up to 16 total tracks allow solo musicians and full bands to capture and shape complete songs with ease. When a computer-based workflow is preferred, the R20 can function as an 8×4 USB audio interface compatible with virtually any recording software.

Part recording console, part virtual instrument, and part effects processor, the R20 comes equipped with eight microphone preamps, built-in channel strips, drum loops, synth sounds, and a range of digital processing tools including compression, EQ, gating, and more. Designed to meet the needs of modern creators, the R12 offers control-surface functionality, 150 preloaded drum loops, a customizable click track, a dedicated FX channel with four effect types, compressors on inputs 1 and 2, per-track pan and 3-band EQ, a tuner, and even a built-in FM synthesizer. With features such as sequence play for backing tracks, it’s equally suited for recording full albums, performing live, or producing streaming-ready content.

The R12 includes a bright, 2.4″ color touchscreen for intuitive navigation and swipe editing. Two XLR-1/4″ combo inputs are provided—input 1 includes a Hi-Z option for guitar, while both inputs offer selectable phantom power. Balanced 1/4″ monitor outputs, a 3.5mm headphone output capable of driving high-power headphones, and a USB-C port for interface use and bus power (cable included) round out its connectivity. Power can be supplied in three ways: four AA batteries for up to 5 hours of operation, the included AD-17 AC adapter, or USB-C bus power—giving you flexible options wherever you record.
