The MKE 600, measuring 10″ in length, utilizes an interference tube and a supercardioid\/lobar polar pattern to deliver highly focused on-axis audio capture while significantly reducing sound from the sides and rear. This design makes it far superior to the omnidirectional microphones typically built into cameras, especially for recording distant audio sources.<\/p>\n

Engineered with a natural reduction of sub-bass frequencies below 40 Hz, the MKE 600 prevents excessive bass buildup. Additionally, its switchable low-cut filter at 100 Hz effectively reduces low-frequency noise from sources like air conditioners or traffic, ensuring clean and clear audio.<\/p>\n

Versatile Power Options<\/h4>\n

Equipped with a 3-pin XLR output and compatibility with 48 VDC phantom power, the MKE 600 pairs seamlessly with various devices, including handheld audio recorders, field mixers, and camcorder preamps. For devices lacking phantom power, the microphone can operate for up to 150 hours using a single AA battery (sold separately). A red low-battery indicator signals approximately 8 hours of remaining runtime. Its on\/off switch helps conserve battery life when not in use.<\/p>\n

Flexible Mounting Solutions<\/h4>\n

The MKE 600 comes with a shoe shockmount, allowing quick attachment to cameras or tripods. For boompole or mic stand setups, the Rycote InVision INV-HG mkIII shockmount (sold separately) is recommended, offering additional isolation to minimize vibration transfer from the stand or pole.<\/p>\n
