Azden MX-10 Send/Return Breakout Cable for FMX-42a

The MX-10 is a multi-pin stereo send and return breakout cable designed for use with the FMX-42a Portable Mixer. It has a 10-pin Hirose male connector that goes to 2 balanced XLR connectors and 1 stereo 3.5mm male connector.

With the MX-10 you can take full advantage of the FMX-42a’s return monitoring capabilities. Send stereo audio to your camera and return for monitoring at the mixer.

Adding the MX-10 to your toolkit also gives you the ability to send stereo audio to 2 separate recording devices, as the FMX-42a’s 10-pin output and main XLR outputs can be used simultaneously.

The MX-10 is 3 feet in length and can be extended by using standard XLR microphone cables and a 3.5mm headphone extension cable (sold by 3rd parties).

Azden FMX-42u – 4 Channel Portable Mixer w/ USB Digital Audio Output

Azden’s FMX-42 portable mixer has been trusted by audio professionals in the field for over a decade. Its extensive set of features, handcrafted quality and affordability have made it one of the most popular portable mixers on the market. Now with the new FMX-42u, Azden has added a USB digital audio output for even more flexibility.

The USB Out on the FMX-42u is designed to connect to a computer, smartphone or tablet and acts as a secondary stereo audio output (necessary USB cables and adapters are not included but readily available from electronics suppliers). This flexible feature could now allow you to use a mobile device or laptop computer as a backup digital recorder, use up to 4 XLR microphones white shooting video with a smartphone or tablet, or even use the FMX-42u as an in-studio mixer for web streaming or podcasting.

Of course the FMX-42u still boasts the many features of its predecessor, which include 4 balanced XLR line/mic inputs with individual level and pan controls, switchable (per channel) 48V phantom power and limiting, professional quality VU meters for accurate level setting, master level control, 1k tone generator, 2 balanced XLR outputs (line/mic switchable), stereo mini-jack output for DV cameras and a headphone output with level control.

Having 4 balanced XLR line/mic inputs with individual level and pan controls, the FMX-42a provides switchable (per channel) 48V phantom power and limiting, professional quality VU meters for accurate level setting, master level control, 1k tone generator, 2 balanced XLR outputs (line/mic switchable), stereo mini-jack output for DV cameras, 10-pin Camera Return, mini-jack Camera Return and a headphone monitor with level control.

The 10-pin camera return may also be used as a secondary stereo output, independent from the mixer’s main XLR outputs, using Azden’s MX-10 Cable.

The FMX-42a can be powered by either 6 internal “AA” batteries or an optional 12V DC external supply (Locking 4-Pin Hirose connector). A ballistic nylon carrying case is included.
