Overview

Enhance your on-camera monitoring with the Atomos Shinobi II 5.2″ HDMI HDR Monitor. Lightweight Design

He monitor has been slimmed down to weigh only 7.4 oz, and there are added locating holes alongside the 1/4″-20 threads for anti-twist mounting. A single L-series battery plate on the back has been placed in the center to improve balancing and maneuverability.

Brighter Display

The 5.2″ touchscreen display is 50% brighter than the Shinobi, measuring 1500 cd/m² peak brightness, making it easily readable whether you’re shooting indoors or in bright sunlight.

Camera control

Using specially designed on-screen sliders you can adjust white balance, lens aperture, shutter speed/angle and ISO. A red edge display indicates when the camera is recording internally, whether triggered by the camera or from the Shinobi II.

Perfect for video and photography

Shinobi II will run all day on a single battery and offers a host of professional monitoring features. Set up your shots accurately using our advanced histograms, waveforms and videoscopes. A multi-tool Analysis View gives you all the essential info at a glance. There’s even a selfie Mirror Mode for vloggers. Shinobi II is the perfect accessory to improve any photo or video production.

Cable locking

Atomos has developed a unique and rugged locking ecosystem to maintain a secure grip on connected HDMI and USB-C cables and Shinobi II is supplied with a special bracket to facilitate this. With Atomos locking cables (purchased separately) it is the most robust capture cable system available today. Shinobi II is also fully compatible with standard, non-locking cables.

Lightweight Design

The monitor has been designed with a slimmer form factor, weighing only 7.4 oz, and there are added locating holes alongside the 1/4″-20 threads for anti-twist mounting. A single L-series battery plate on the back has been placed in the center to improve balancing and maneuverability. The included HDMI/USB-C locking adapter allows you to use Atomos’ new line of locking cables to prevent disconnecting or pulling.

Power Options

There are multiple methods to power the Shinobi II, including an L-series/NP-F style battery, an optional battery eliminator (dummy battery) in combination with a DC barrel to D-Tap cable, or via a USB-C PD charger with 10W input. You can also charge/power your camera via USB-C PD 13W output while using Shinobi II’s camera control features.

The 5-inch ZATO CONNECT has been designed to be a compact, easy-to-use gateway to ATOMOS Cloud Studio. The device supports nearly all HDMI and USB UVC sources for livestreaming and video conferencing. The device features Wi-Fi 5 and Gigabit Ethernet (via USB-C) to ensure maximum network compatibility.

Atomos Shinobi 7″ 4K HDMI/SDI Monitor

Add a bright, high-resolution monitor to view your 4K/2K footage from a cinema camera such as a Z CAM E2, Panasonic BGH1, or RED KOMODO with the Shinobi 7″ 4K HDMI/SDI Monitor from Atomos. This 7″ on-camera monitor features a 1920 x 1200 10-bit FRC IPS display with a brightness of 2200 cd/m², which makes it suitable for use in both exterior and interior conditions. This larger model improves on the original Shinobi as it adds 3G-SDI input and loop output up to 2K60, HDMI 2.0 input and loop output up to 4K60, signal cross conversion, a camera control port, dual L-series battery slots, and future possibilities with its built-in USB and RJ45 ports.

The touchscreen Shinobi 7 runs the latest AtomOS firmware that features a variety of onscreen analysis tools such as multi-scope views, exposure, framing, focus assist, waveform, RGB parade, and histogram tools. It also features an SDI card input to load custom 3D LUTs, and it supports SDR and HDR viewing. The AtomHDR display technology allows you to accurately monitor your log gamma footage without having to view flat, washed-out images or use a LUT to compress the dynamic range and color space. The monitor supports popular log formats from Sony, Canon, Panasonic, ARRI, RED, and JVC cameras.

It also supports camera control using its 2.5mm control port and optional cables, and it currently supports control of the Z CAM E2 series of cinema cameras. Built to withstand the rigors of production, the Shinobi 7 features a lightweight chassis and powers from a dual L-series battery plate or using the included power adapter.

AtomHDR

With AtomHDR you can monitor up to ten stops of dynamic range of your camera’s LOG image. Most conventional monitors can only display six or seven stops, which is fine for standard footage; but a Log image will look overly flat. It is also superior to monitoring with a loaded LUT, which can clip the highlights and mask shadows.

7″ Daylight Viewable Screen

HDR Signal Management

Log and HDR signals can be difficult to monitor with conventional equipment. With the Shinobi’s built-in HDR signal management functions, the log signal can be converted to the PQ standard for compatibility with existing consumer and professional HDR equipment.

Power Options

The back of the monitor features dual L-series battery slots for longer shoot durations, and a universal power adapter is also included.

Camera Control

The monitor features a 2.5mm control port that currently supports control of Z CAM E2 series cinema cameras, while future camera control support is pending.

Anamorphic De-Squeeze

The Shinobi 7 supports anamorphic de-squeeze, allowing you to comfortably view anamorphic footage with a squeeze of 2x, 1.5x, 1.33, and Panasonic’s 8:3.

3D LUT Management

An SD card slot allows you to load custom 3D LUTs and apply them to both input and output signals.

The designers of Atomos have listened to the wishes of Ninja V users and with the Ninja V+ deliver a vastly improved monitor-recorder. It offers all the benefits of the Ninja V and also supports 4Kp120 and 8Kp30 ProRes RAW recording and H.265 recording. In addition, the monitor supports the latest firmware of the Sony FX6 and FX9 video cameras. The built-in H.265 recording enables 10-bit recordings in 4:2:2 and 8-bit recordings in 4:2:2 and 4:2:0.

Shooting in RAW

Record video in the highest RAW quality with your camera and use the Atomos Ninja V+ to record the proxy files with all file names, time codes and a LUT recorded directly into the file.

Rec. 709 monitoring with the Atomos Ninja V+

In addition to HDR monitoring, the Atomos Ninja V+ is equipped with a high brightness mode for traditional Rec. 709 monitoring. This function uses the full brightness of 1000c/m², so that you can properly assess the image even in bright sunlight and without the use of a lens hood.
